The First Couture Chapter of Nephtali Couture House
The Zaïre Collection is the inaugural couture expression of Nephtali — a house dedicated to African-inspired elegance, handcrafted in Scotland.
Conceived as both a visual and cultural narrative, Zaïre reflects the dialogue between African heritage and contemporary couture. Each garment is created as a statement piece: bold, emotional, and meticulously constructed.
The collection introduces two central figures — the Zaïre Woman and the Zaïre Man — whose wardrobes embody power, romance, and identity through form, fabric, and movement.
THE ZAÏRE WOMAN
Sculptural, confident, and unapologetically elegant, the Zaïre Woman represents modern African femininity.
Her silhouettes are designed to celebrate curves, strength, and presence. Bold textiles and dramatic lines are balanced with refined couture finishing, creating garments that move with the body while commanding attention.
Each look was individually patterned, fitted, and finished in the Nephtali atelier in Scotland.
THE ZAÏRE MAN
The Zaïre Man embodies tailored strength and cultural pride.
His silhouettes reinterpret African masculinity through structured tailoring and expressive textiles. Clean lines, precision cuts, and rich fabrics create a modern yet timeless aesthetic — a fusion of tradition and contemporary couture.
Each look was designed and crafted to stand beside the Zaïre Woman as an equal presence: confident, refined, and powerful.
THE CREATIVE DIRECTION
The Zaïre Collection was designed and directed by Belocine Musolo, Founder and Creative Director of Nephtali Couture.
Every element — from silhouette to fabric selection — was conceived to express the House’s identity: African heritage, couture craftsmanship, and emotional storytelling through fashion.
The collection was photographed in a studio setting to highlight both the garments and the relationship between the two figures — reinforcing the themes of connection, elegance, and shared identity.
